چکیده

has been renamed “Update,” as some users expressed concern over the word “Duplicate.” With these changes in mind, we would like to emphasize that the ultimate purpose of the Déjà Vu database is to maintain the integrity of biomedical literature, a goal that can be achieved only by a thorough and accurate interpretation of the information contained within. We therefore extend to both the editors and reviewers of Clinical Chemistry an invitation to explore the Déjà Vu database and its accompanying text similarity tool, eTBLAST (http://etblast.org), to help identify future submissions of questionable manuscripts before they are published.

Maximal Lipid Oxidation (Fatmax) in Physical Exercise and Training: A review and Update

The exercise intensity, at which the maximal fat oxidation (MFO) rate occurs, has been defined as Fatmax. It has been suggested that the fat oxidation rate during the Fatmax intensity is approximately 2-fold greater than at any other intensity although modifiable by several physiological conditions (training, previous exercise or meal). There are a few standardized protocols for estimating of F...

High-sensitivity cardiac troponin T and copeptin assays to improve diagnostic accuracy of exercise stress test in patients with suspected coronary artery disease.

BACKGROUND The average diagnostic sensitivity of exercise stress tests (ESTs) is lower than that of other non-invasive cardiac stress tests. The aim of the study was to examine whether high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT) or copeptin concentrations rise in response to inducible myocardial ischaemia and may improve the diagnostic accuracy of ESTs. METHODS AND RESULTS An EST was perfor...

Vasopressin, copeptin, and renal concentrating capacity in patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease without renal impairment.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is the most prevalent hereditary renal disease, characterized by cyst formation in the kidneys leading to end stage kidney failure. It is clinically acknowledged that ADPKD patients have impaired urine concentrating capacity, but the mechanism behind this observation is unknown. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS, & MEA...

The Effect of Resistance Training with Two Maximum and Sub-maximal Intensities on Leukocytes and Blood Coagulation Factors in Non-Athlete Men: A Clinical Trial Study

Background and Objectives: The effects of maximal and sub-maximal resistance exercise on leukocytes and coagulator factors is ambiguous. Therefore the purpose of the present study was to determine the effect of maximum and sub-maximal resistance training intensities on leukocytes and blood coagulation factors in non-athlete men. Materials and Methods: In this clinical trial study,...

Urine Concentrating Capacity, Vasopressin and Copeptin in ADPKD and IgA Nephropathy Patients with Renal Impairment

BACKGROUND Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) patients have an impaired urine concentrating capacity. Increased circulating vasopressin (AVP) concentrations are supposed to play a role in the progression of ADPKD. We hypothesized that ADPKD patients have a more severely impaired urine concentrating capacity in comparison to other patients with chronic kidney disease at a simil...
